You think you know yourself pretty well until you have to write about it!

The purpose of this page is to keep a sort of journal of recipes and sewing patterns I've been trying out. As someone who taught myself how to sew by watching YouTube videos and reading books/blogs and how to cook by following recipes I think there could be someone out there that can learn something too with my input.

I go through phases of hobbies that I pick up and stop in cycles, but sewing is one of those hobbies that I am consistent with. Yes, there are times that I get frustrated and stop for a couple of months but I always end up missing it and running back. Recently I got the bright idea to slowly, SLOWLY transition my wardrobe into being mostly handmade. There is nothing that makes me prouder than when I am wearing something I made myself and have someone compliment it. It's a great feeling to have a vision and see it evolve before your eyes. Not to mention the benefit of having an exclusive wardrobe that you know you won't see on anyone else! It's the perfect way to express yourself and your personality and be able to really figure out what your true style is. I love fabric and patterns and look forward to seeing all my projects unfold and be able to see the progress I've made and skills I've acquired along the way!
Food! Who doesn't love food?!! I am a cookbook hoarder, I have so many books and recipes that I know I won't get to but I really, really like having the option! For the last couple of months I've been giving those books good use (finally!) and have been picking two books each week and plan a five day (M-F) schedule of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Cooking is also another thing that gives me great satisfaction. I love how I can take a recipe and make it my own by adding this or substituting that. Cooking for yourself also allows you to be accountable for what you are eating. I am not the healthiest person out there but if I can control what is in my food it truly makes it even more enjoyable. I try not to repeat the same meals but sometimes they are so good and easy that I go back to them. I figured I can pick my favorites each week and share!
I plan to use this space as a journal where I write about my experience with the sewing patterns, and recipes while at the same time writing a review and my recommendations (changes).
